The 3rd Gas Unit of Mahshahr Combined Cycle Power Plant Is Exploited
26 feb 2017
With exploitation of the 3rd gas unit of Mahshahr combine cycle power plant, the electricity generation capacity of this power plant surpassed 486 Megawatts

According to Thermal Power Plants Holding’s (TPPH) public relations and international affairs’ office, Mahshahr combined cycle power station with the structure of four gas units in under construction in Khuzestan Province to provide regional energy needs according to state’s total 6000 Megawatts gas power station plan (second phase) in Khuzestan province.
According to planning the fourth unit will be synchronized to the country’s national electricity distribution network before next Persian fiscal year 2017-2018’s peak time in summer 2017.
The capacity of the gas unit is 648 Megawatts and a power post with the capacity of 230 kilovolts will transfer power plant’s generated electricity to the country’s national electricity distribution network.
In order to provide power station’s fuel in gas shortage days, 3 stororage with 20000 squares per meter has been predicted to store gasoline. These installed storages can supply power plant’s fuel for 45 days.
Mahshahr combined cycle power plant is under construction in order to respond regional growing energy consumption’s need by the ultimate applying of domestic human resource’s engineering capacity. The power plant is situated 15 Kilometers away from Mahshahr city in the corner of old Jarahi road in a surface of 100 hectares.
The main contractor of the project was MAPNA company which used the equipment’s that are chiefly produced in the country.
In should be added that exploitation of this power plant unit, has made a new record in the capacity of TPPH’s power generation on current Persian fiscal year to the amount of 1802 Megawatts.
