In Next Half a Decade, 2060 Megawatts Will Be Added to the Power Generation Capacity of Makran Beach

Planning Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Thermal Power Plants Holding company announced that two new power plants in Makran beach will be constructed.

According to Thermal Power Plants Holding’s (TPPH) public relations and international affairs’ office, Hamid Reza Azimi announced in the International Gathering for Investment Opportunities and Durable Development in Makran Beach that with the construction of these two power plants and accomplishment of the steam unit of Chabahar combined cycle power station approximately 2060 Megawatts will be added to the country’s national electricity distribution network.
Mr. Azimi added that in order to provide the energy needed for sustainable development for Makran Beach. Thus, 2000 Megawatts of 25000 Megawatts for the country’s development capacity in the sixth plan of the country’s development is exclusively dedicated to this strategic region.
Planning Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Thermal Power Plants Holding company said that new power plant units in Makran Beach are Bandzark Power Station (with the capacity of 500 Megawatts), Sirik Steam Power Station (with the capacity of 1400 Megawatts) and the steam unit of Chabahar Power Station ( with the capacity of 160 Megawatts). Their construction is planned to be finished and the power station units will be exploited between 2019 to 2021 period.
“Bandzark Power Station will be constructed by private investment and Sirik Steam Power Station will be constructed by the finance of Russian Federation government.” He added.
Mr. Azimi concluded that the regional thermal power station capacity is 556 Megawatts which includes the steam unit of Chabahar power plant and micro scale Kenarak and Chabahar Gas Power Stations.
