Zarand Power Plant in Kerman Province will be operational

The Managing Director of Thermal Power Plant Holding Co. announced in the ceremony of start of executing operation of the Zarand CCPP: “480 Mw Zarand power plant will be used during next 2 years.”

According to the report of Public Relations and International Affairs of TPPH Co. Mohsen Tarztalad expressed during the groundbreaking ceremony of Zarand CCPP: “The 480 Mw Zarand has 2 gas units and 1 steam unit and the necessary preparations have been done and it will be operational in next 2 years.”

He added: “the capacity of Keraman Province is now 3349 Mw now and new capacity of 320 Mw will be added to it till the end of this year. By adding this amount of power generation, the level of electricity consumption will be almost positive.”

The Managing Director of Thermal Power Plant Holding Co. remarked: “there are 15 thousands Mw power plant with more than 25 years age which among the amount, there are 3 thousands Mw with the efficiency under 20%.”

He continued: “TPPH needs the support of Ministry of Power and the Islamic Council of Parliament to solve existing financial problems for executing related projects to fuel consumption and building power plants with high efficiency.”

Tarztalab emphasized: “despite of all problems ahead, the fast establishment of Zarand CCPP is included in the agenda of TPPH Co. and MAPNA Group and God willing its first gas unit will join to electricity network of the country in 2019.”
