The Second Unit of Mahshahr Combined Cycle Power Station Inaugurated by Arrival of the Peak Annual Temperature of the Summer 2016
7/4/2016
By exploiting the second gas unit of Mahshahr Combined Cycle Power Station, the total capacity of Iran’s national electricity network reaches the capacity of 75020.
According to TPPH's public relations,  Mahshahr Combined Cycle Power Station with 4 gas units is under construction in Khouzestan Province by the Ministry of Energy to generate regional electricity needs. Two units are inaugurated by the time of this report in summer 2016.

It is estimated that, by fall 2016, the third unit will be ready to join Iran's national electricity network with the capacity of 162 megawatts. The forth unit will be ready to join national electricity network before the peak annual temperature of the summer 2017.

The total capacity of the power station is 648 megawatts. A peak post with 230 kilovolts will transfer generated electricity to the electricity national network.

In the gas shortage periods, 20,000 meters per square diesel is designed to be stored in 3 reservoirs which can prepare the power stations fuel for a period of 45 days.

Mahshahr Combined Cycle Power Station is designed to develop national electricity generation and in a response to regional consumption growth.

Mahshahr Combined Cycle Power Station, with 100 hectares surface, is situated in old road of Jarrahi which is 15 kilometer away from Mahshahr city.

MAPNA Company is the main contractor and equipment provider of the project. The equipments are chiefly produced in Iran and the project has used educated domestic human resource.

At the end, it should be added that, by the construction of this unit of Mahshahr Combined Cycle Power Station, the total capacity of TPPH's generated thermal electricity has reached the record of 37010 megawatts.
